He and his father take turns to run their cart , that stocks wiild exotic berries, raw mango slices, wild tamarind, singhadas avlas,, boiled peanuts, and their handcart is crowded at all times, by young girls ladies and school kids.
They are migrants from Uttar Pradesh but Mumbai is their home.
People call them Bhaiyyas.
The present political apathy has seen people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar being driven out for no fault of theirs.Parochial politics of dividing and dismembering the essence of a mother called India..
These migrants came with nothing they say just a dhoti and a lota and their wander lust to make it big, and they did, doing menial jobs, that had no takers.
They worked slogged and today their children work in multi national companies.
What saddens me is that those who rule Uttar Pradesh and Bihar never took up the challenge of making Patna or Lucknow into another Mumbai..
I am sure if there was prosperity in their own state and less corruption they would have never left for unknown destinations.
My subject is very clear I believe more than citizens of a region we are Indians first..
And the fundamental right of movement cannot be alienated.And the state has a fundamental right to protect all Indians from every part of India.
Sometimes I think coalition politics sucks , and so does democrarcy..
But than I guess there is no other alternative.
Every citizen seeks peace hope and harmony..
And the government by the people, for the people , of the people should make this a necessity to better living..

Getting the grip because of my defective right hand is tough, the movements are all done by the left hand, but its more convenient than zanzir matam, or the sword matam, as my right hand cannot rotate completely.
I used the dagger that another young kid was using, and it was not washed either, I mention this , as the fervour of pain is more pressing than fear of infection.
Habib Nassers brain child is this unique Iraqi Kama Matam in Mumbai.

Last year I shot the Delhi Chehlum, and due to a sword injury lost partial use of my right hand,so I am not able to use my zanzir, for self flagellation, to add to my lifes sorrow is the same hand suffers from a diabetic frozen shoulder , so I cannot rotate my hand from my shoulder.
I cut my head on Ashura at the same place, I handed my camera to Baqar Nasser who took all these shots of my kama zani..
And I am sure Dr Glenn Losack MD shot me too.
